Mobile Services

CETS Event Services may provide tech support to events by transporting and setting up:

  • portable sound systems;
  • projectors and screens;
  • video-camcorders and/or
  • other technologies

in venues for Live Events (or Live Events with a Zoom component).

In some venues (e.g. Gaston Hall, Riggs Library or the Bioethics Library) there is no technology installed, so CETS must transport and set-up everything required.

In other venues (e.g. Arupe Hall, Copley Formal Lounge, McShain Large), there is some techology already installed. CETS usually brings in additional or different types of microphones to these venues and/or video camcorders and other components for Video-recording or Zoom, through its Mobile Services. Service is provided through a mix of installed and portable technology.

The fee schedule for Mobile Services features the same hourly rate for service as for programs in Fixed- or Hybrid- venues. But the more components that CETS has to transport and set up (then strike and return transport to storage after an event) the more staff time it will take for CETS to provide the same level of service, compared to situations where CETS need only set up and prepare installed equipment in a venue.

So for the same technical services, it may be more expensive for the patron if CETS has to provide mostly Mobile Services than it would be to provide the same services in a venue where all of the required technology was already installed.
