Accessible Classroom Seating

Georgetown University is continuously taking steps to increase the accessibility of its
spaces, including classrooms. If you are unsure of whether or not a classroom’s furniture suits
your needs, please consult the General Purpose Classroom Images Folder, maintained by
Classroom Educational Technology Services (CETS). You must be logged in to your georgetown.edu Google account to access this folder.

How to Request Accessible Desk and Seating Options

If your request is on the basis of disability . . .
Contact the Academic Resource Center (ARC) through the MyARC Portal to make a formal request for accommodations. Should you require a particular kind of classroom furniture as an
accommodation, the ARC will work directly with CETS to ensure that the accommodation is
provided in a timely fashion.

If your request is not on the basis of disability . . .
Contact Classroom Educational Technology Services (CETS) at cetsops@georgetown.edu directly to request a particular kind of classroom furniture not related to disability. The CETS office will respond to your request in a timely manner and follow up with you directly to confirm the request and or
invite you to meet to address any follow up questions to ensure the desk and or chair meets
your need.

Q: What should I do if the accessible classroom furniture provided is missing,
inadequate, or being misused?

Answer: If the furniture provided for your accommodation is missing, no longer in the room,
does not meet your needs, or is being misused by others in the classroom, please contact
CETS staff immediately to address the issue: cetsops@georgetown.edu.
