Working with third-party providers
There are several ways that external AV providers could be accommodated in the three Auditorium venues normally supported by CETS Event Services:
- Fisher Colloquium
- If the external vendor wanted to use the built-in projectors and screens of the venue then either CETS or the MSBTC would need to acress the room control system to match the input location of computer content with one or more projectors
- Either CETS or the MSBTC would be within its rights to charge a patron for its staff time setting up that computer video routing.
- CETS isunaware of any way to share program audio and computer video with an external video crew wanting to video record an event in Fisher.
- Most probably, the external provider would have to parallel-mic all speaking participants (putting their own wireless mic on a speaker who already has a wireless mic for voice amplification in the venue) in order to get voice audio into the videorecording cleanly.
- If the external vendor wanted to use the built-in projectors and screens of the venue then either CETS or the MSBTC would need to acress the room control system to match the input location of computer content with one or more projectors
- ICC Auditorium.
- Since all stage lighting lighting controls are accessed only in the projection booth of the Auditorium, CETS personnel would be needed to set all required lighting for vendor prior to program start.
- CETS would be within its rights to charge the patron for that staff time.
- If the external vendor wanted to use the built-in projectors and screens of the venue, then CETS personnel would need to power up the projector and digital video switching system for the vendor, and might need to remain on site during the program to monitor the projector.
- CETS would be within its rights to charge a patron for its staff time setting up that computer video routing, and then monitoring the projector over the duration of the program.
- CETS would be able to drop a cable of auxiliary audio output from the Auditorium audio mixing board, out of the project booth and down to an external provider video crew on the floor.
- The line could go directly into a video recording camera, or could go to a “mult-box” (audio distribution amp) from which one or more camera crews would tap for thair recording audio.
- This is often done on high-profile events with national figures speaking – multiple press outlets would take their recording audio from a CETS mult-box on the Auditorium floor.
- Note: This would require all external provider camera crews to set up their camera gear toward the back of the venue.
- But CETS would not need to remain on site if a mult-box and/or setting up the stage lights were the only support it were providing to an external provider.
- Since all stage lighting lighting controls are accessed only in the projection booth of the Auditorium, CETS personnel would be needed to set all required lighting for vendor prior to program start.
- Lohrfink Auditorium
- Since all stage lighting lighting controls are accessed only in the projection booth of Lohrfink, CETS personnel would be needed to set all required lighting for vendor prior to program start.
- CETS would be within its rights to charge the patron for that staff time.
